Dissemination Activity for “Music for Cognitive Advancement and Inclusive Change” Erasmus+ Project
1. Scope and Target Audience of the Dissemination Activity
On November 4, 2025, a national dissemination activity for our Erasmus+ project “Music for Cognitive Advancement and Inclusive Change” was conducted at Abant İzzet Baysal University in Bolu, Türkiye. The event targeted students from the Special Education Teaching Department and Music Teaching Department. The aim was to introduce the project’s objectives, intellectual outputs, and the positive impact of music-based interventions on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special educational needs. The dissemination session was organized by Yeşildüzce Special Education Practice School, the project’s coordinating institution, in collaboration with the university’s academic staff and future teachers.
2. Presentation of Project Outputs
During the session, the project team presented the main outcomes developed throughout the Erasmus+ partnership with institutions from Ireland, Croatia, and Germany.
Participants were introduced to:
-The project handbook, including guidelines for applying music-based cognitive and inclusive education practices.
-The training materials and practical examples used during international project meetings.
-The implementation framework for integrating music into inclusive classroom settings.
Presentations were delivered by Hilal İlhan (School Principal), Deniz Cennet Aydın (Music Teacher), and Senem Sayın Özen (Special Education Teacher). They discussed how music supports students’ cognitive, emotional, and social development, emphasizing its inclusive potential for children with ASD.
3. Feedback and Evaluation
The dissemination event received very positive feedback from both university students and academic staff. Participants expressed great interest in the practical aspects of the project, especially in how music can be used as a tool for inclusion and engagement in diverse classrooms. Students highlighted that the examples shared during the presentation deepened their understanding of inclusive education and provided them with new pedagogical ideas. Lecturers from the university underlined the importance of connecting theory with real-life educational practices and appreciated the opportunity to learn from a European-level project experience.
4. Impact and Outcomes of the Dissemination
This activity significantly contributed to the national visibility and educational impact of the Music for Cognitive Advancement and Inclusive Change project. The event not only strengthened collaboration between university students, lecturers, and project partners but also inspired participants to explore music-based methods in their future teaching careers. As a result, the dissemination effectively promoted the project’s outputs, encouraged the adoption of inclusive and creative teaching practices, and built new connections for potential future cooperation between schools and universities.
5. Conclusion
The dissemination event held at Abant İzzet Baysal University successfully fulfilled its goal of sharing project outcomes with future educators in Türkiye. Participants demonstrated high engagement and enthusiasm, reinforcing the importance of music as a universal and inclusive educational tool. The feedback gathered during the event will be considered in future project activities and in the continued dissemination of results at national and international levels.
