MUZICAD Project Kick-off Meeting – Düzce, Turkey
From 28th January to 1st February 2025, the MUZICAD Project officially embarked on its exciting journey with a dynamic and inspiring kick-off meeting in Düzce, Turkey. This landmark event brought together passionate partners from Turkey, Ireland, Germany, and Croatia, united under the shared mission of exploring the transformative role of music in enhancing communication for individuals with autism.
About the MUZICAD Project
As part of the Erasmus+ initiative, MUZICAD aims to investigate innovative, music-based strategies to support and improve communication skills among people with autism. The project fosters cross-border collaboration, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to create meaningful, inclusive educational resources.
Day 1: Laying the Foundations
The meeting began on a high note with warm welcomes, engaging introductions, and interactive icebreakers that set a positive tone. Partners delivered insightful organisational presentations, sharing their unique contributions to the project. Key discussions focused on the project’s objectives, planned activities, and strategic goals, followed by an overview of the work packages and the clear distribution of roles and responsibilities among partners.
Day 2: Sparking Innovation
Our second day was dedicated to creative exploration. Partners engaged in brainstorming sessions focused on innovative approaches to music-based communication for individuals with autism. These discussions inspired fresh ideas, emphasising the importance of inclusivity, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity. The day also featured in-depth planning around the design, content, and structure of our educational handbook, a key deliverable aimed at supporting educators and practitioners.
Day 3: Strengthening Collaboration
The final day centred on consolidating our plans and ensuring a clear path forward. We exchanged best practices, discussed strategies for the promotion of effective methodologies, and began outlining our online learning modules. Concrete tasks and timelines were agreed upon, setting the stage for our next project meeting, scheduled to take place in Germany in April 2025.
Cultural Exchange and Reflection
To conclude this inspiring mobility, our Turkish hosts treated us to an unforgettable cultural exchange experience, showcasing the rich heritage and breathtaking sights of Düzce. This cultural immersion not only deepened our personal connections but also highlighted the value of diversity within our partnership.
